 Jan Sloot was a Dutch electrical engineer. He developed Sloot Digital Coding System with which he stored a movie in just 8kb of size with the help of high compression.

PHILIPS

Sloot presented this technology to the philips company. On 11 July 1999, Sloot was found dead in his garden by heart attack, just days before the conclusion of a contract to sell the invention.

MYSTERY

After he died, the source code got deleted and could not be recovered till now. The floppy disk disappeared and could not be found after searching for months.
